Sex Workers Outreach Project-USA is a national social justice network dedicated to the fundamental human rights of people involved in the sex trade and their communities, focusing on ending violence and stigma through education and advocacy.
On the national level, SWOP helps build stronger communities and a stronger movement through technical assistance, funding, and direct support and advocacy. On a local level, our chapters address structural, cultural, and interpersonal violence individuals in the sex trade face by working to change attitudes, change policies, and create alternative community-led systems of support.

This is a first class operation! I called the hotline when I couldn’t get ahold of anybody after my employer was busted and there was very little information to be found. The lady who answered the phone was AMAZING and helpful. They knew more about the rentboy bust before ANYBODY else and put me in touch with a TON of people and orgs who were ready to step up and help us out. I never thought much about Sex Work and being a sex worker and clearly these ladies have their shit together. Within hours they were posting about “standing with rentboy” and posting updated information and lobbying for all the gay orgs to step up. I’m amazed at how much these ladies have their shit together. Meant to write this earlier but forgot. Keep up the good work and I’m with the lady sex workers! In solidarity!

Bev says:
I was referred to SWOP by the Human Trafficking Hotline because I wanted to try to work at doing something else. The lady that answered the phone was so nice and friendly and she sent me a GED Guide so I could get my high school diploma. We’ve stayed in touch since then and I finally passed my GED test and I’m enrolled at culinary school. I would have never known where to start if it wouldn’t have been for her.

Heather S says:
These folks are so awesome. I called the hotline after being arrested while on tour in Virginia and they connected me with an amazing attorney who got my case dropped. They checked up on me after I was finally released and connected me with a bunch of people in New York City – which is where I was from. While I was in jail they sent me books and wrote me letters and even sent a Christmas Card. They made the worst month of my life easier. I am forever grateful.
