FROM THE FAMILIES AGAINST SEX TRAFFICKING WEBSITE –

CEO: D’Lita Miller
D’Lita Miller is no stranger to sex trafficking. As a sexually exploited youth D’Lita understands firsthand the vulnerabilities that make victims easy prey for traffickers. At age 11 she was held against her will for 48 hrs, sexually assualted and sold by gang members. Ms. Miller refers to this period as “being broken”, where she recalls giving up. Before the exploitation D’Lita was a straight A student, who performed in school plays, sang in her church choir, and had a fairly good childhood.

Shortly after her experience D’Lita ran away from home, because she felt that her family didn’t understand what she had gone through. Looking for love in all the wrong places D’Lita began a life of promiscuity, which then led to teenage pregnancy.

Lacking education and resources the life of exploitation began for D’Lita, by the age of 15.

After, 13 years in and out “the game” D’Lita went back to school to study Administration of Justice at Long Beach City College. While finishing up her degree, D’Lita was blessed with a position as a legal assistant at a civil law firm in Long Beach, CA (Jarvis Law Offices).

In 2011, D’Lita’s worst nightmare came to her front door. Miller’s 16 year old daughter had been a victim of sex trafficking. D’Lita and her family experienced emergency relocation, lack of emergency services, and the absence of consultation for the family.

D’Lita has always had a strong passion to help others, and as a result of her daughter being trafficked Ms. Miller met Kim Biddle, CEO of Saving Innocence and the road to helping victims and their families began.

Serving in many positions D’Lita has worked with human trafficking organizations, such as Saving Innocence, Runaway Girl FPC, CASRE, The Mary Magdalene Project, Crittenton, David & Margaret Group Home, Gems Uncovered, Restoration Diversion Services, Sowers Education Group, Survivors 4 Solutions, and volunteered with the Prop 35 Case Act Campaign (2012), as a spokesperson. Ms. Miller also, served as a human trafficking expert on the Commission on POST Training Committee.

D’Lita is a member of the Long Beach Human Trafficking Task Force, ICAN CSEC Committee, and is a consultant to several human trafficking organizations throughout Southern, CA.

January 2013 D’Lita founded F.A.S.T (Families Against Sex Trafficking), as a result of the need for support and advocacy for survivors of sex trafficking and their families.

Alongside working as founder of FAST, D’Lita works as a human trafficking trainer, public speaker, prevention group facilitator, and has collaborated with Sowers Education Group, Runaway Girl FPC, and Freedom of Mind Resource Inc., in writing a intervention curriculum “Ending The Game” for survivors of sex trafficking. The curriculum focuses on the psycho-educational “mind control” element of trafficking.

D’Lita has been featured on Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas’s website “From Victim to Leader”, and featured in the Los Angeles Times newspaper, Long Beach Register, and several newspaper articles and documentaries. D’Lita has a vision of opening a 90 day emergency shelter for survivors of sex trafficking and their families.

D’Lita is one of the advocates of 8 minutes TV show

    I met her in person.
She is one in front of the camera and another one in the back. Just to let everyone knows that D’Lita would not have paid me my small fee for participation on 8minutes if I shouldn’t have asked her
    She was keeping the money.
After all. What should we expect about her NGO and her actions in benefits of SWs?
    She defend 8 minutes!
She only stop talking because she was told to not talking anymore. A&E was going to sue her !!
She is representing her NGO in conferences all over US and because of 8minutes she is famous! Lots of people don’t know what she did or what happened to the show .
    And they keep funding her
She charge about 3,000 for a speech.
She is not worthy a 3 dollar bill.
