The F2P Methods for Making runescape gold
Each time I began playing Runescape after a break, of course we all question whether we would like to plunge right back into member-land again, or start a brand new fresh account using the old-fashioned ways to get one step closer to that connection. For me, I’ve always struggled with the money for F2P because they severely limit the things you can do in the game, however for players who may not be in a position to afford membership, or just would like to get to P2P without spending any money and wish to start at stage 1 after the tutorial island, I’ve conducted an extensive search and have found my up-to-date F2P techniques that will certain to help you meet your goals!
Note that nearly all items that you pick up from the wilderness or from other methods will not be able to be sold to the Grand Exchange until your account is sufficiently old. You must either have 7 quest points, 24 hours of in-game time, or upgraded to P2P.
Method 1 – Wilderness Looting
There are no requirements
Directly Off Tutorial Island
40-85K per Hour
Nowadays, wilderness looting really is the risky yet most beneficial method for making money as a player who is free to play as soon as you are spawned in the main realm, you can head over to Edgeville and start earning income immediately! Of course, since you’re in the wilderness, you’ll encounter people who be trying to take your life.. But most often people don’t worry about the three-level players running around. Your real competition will be from other gamers, so be sure that you’re ready for the click!
Head over to Edgeville and change to World 308, it’s suggested to take some of the starter foods from the tutorial island out into the wild for the event of it happens, however you’ll be able to have a source of your own food within your first hour. It’s that easy! After changing to world 308, go through an Edgeville wilderness ditch and pick up anything you come across! It’s amazing what people left on the ground.. And who knows? You might get that lucky drop!
Method 2 – Buying Woad Leaves
1-5K Coins Are Required
30-60K/hour
When you’ve earned your first bit of money from the above method, I recommend heading over to Falador. If you visit Falador’s garden in the North-East area of Falador you’ll find an NPC called ‘Wyson, the Gardener’. It is possible to complete this process with as little as 1,000 gold!
When you arrive with some cash, talk to him and go through the Dialogue. Let him know that you’d like to purchase some Woad Leaves, and when you ask for an offer, make him a deal of 20 coins. He will give you two Woad Leaves for each 20 coins that you pay. At the moment, in the Grand Exchange market, two Woad Leaves are worth the equivalent of 104 Gp. That’s an 84 GP gain for 10 seconds of work!
Depending on how relaxed and efficient you are in working through Wysons dialogue, your earnings per hour could be different. I’ve seen upwards of 35k per hour using this approach, which is an excellent way to begin creating that bank.
Method 3 – Making Chocolate Dust
No Requirements
100K is the recommended amount.
65-75K Per hour
After you have built a solid foundation on your new account by following the steps above, I recommended heading to the Grand Exchange and buying some chocolate bars. You can apply knives on a chocolate bar with no needs to produce chocolate dust. At the moment, there is an 14GP margin per bar you cut into dust. Each item takes around 15 minutes. The average is 1K or higher per minute, depending the level of click-savvy you are.
Note: I suggest setting your inventory like this to ensure the highest efficiency hourly rates.
Method 4 – Purchase food items at Wydin’s Store
1-5K is recommended
70-75K Per Hour
Another technique that not many people are aware of is buying food from Wydins store in Port Sarim. All the products that Wydins sells are extremely below Grand Exchange price. With convenient use of the world-hopping feature as well as banking through Draynor it is possible to earn the likes of 70 to 75K per hour, depending on market prices. This is a massive gold mine for those who are just beginning their careers.
Method 5 – Buying feather packs from Gerrant
50-100k is recommended
150-300K Per hour
The purchase of feather packs has been an excellent money-making method for F2P for as long as I can recall, based on the market prices for feathers, which generally are around 2GP, you can find yourself earning anywhere between 100K and 300K PER HOUR. Simply purchase 10 bags of feathers in Gerrant located in Port Sarim for 200GP per pack (2,000 coins per 10), and then just take the packets out. Hop worlds, rinse repeat.
You will see a profit of 1K gold per 10 packs you buy If you decide to sell them at 3gp or less on the Grand Exchange you will see more profit! However, selling 3gp at 3gp could take several days.. It’s your choice if you prefer to wait for the gold to be sold or not.
Method 6 – Gold/Iron Ore Mining
30/40 Mining Required
Pickaxe
35-75K Per Hour
In F2P,, you’ll discover that mining is a powerful cash-maker. With low level requirements, it’s possible to earn plenty of gold by flogging. At 30 mining, you can mining Iron Ore which are spotted throughout Runescape This will bring approximately 20-50K in an hour. Gold Ore mined at 40 could earn anywhere between 50-125K an hour, based the level you’re at and your luck in mining the ore. Check out our mining guide for more details on OSRS mining locations.
Method 7 – Wines of Zamorak
33/37 Magic
The availability of ranes
250-310K Per Hour
The well-known F2P cash-maker has always been collecting Zamorak Wines deep, deep in the desert. With the cost of Zamorak Wines consistently being over 1.5K each, you can imagine how calling these guys will put out good hourly rates. Since it is in the wilderness at level 38 this is usually inspected by higher-level accounts who will immediately attack you.. Make sure to keep an an eye out for them and jump worlds before they get the chance!
The quickest route for F2P would be taking the long way from Edgeville bank, heading north through the wilderness, and then south to the altar of chaos. (Picture above). 37 Magic is recommended to teleport right to falador, and walk from there. It can be tedious However, if you’re into it for the long haul.. the grind is worth it!
Method 8 – Creating Blue Dyes
No requirements
Great supply of leaves from the Woad from the method 2 above.
60-80K Per Hour
If you’ve gone through method 2 and had collected an impressive amount of Woad Leaves from Wyson the Gardener, make your way over to draynor and speak with Aggie. For five coins and 2 woad leafs, she’ll give you a blue-colored dye that can be purchased at the Grand Exchange for around 240 coins. If you consider 20 coins for the leaves, 5 coins buying the dye, you’re looking at a 215GP profit percentage per color! This can stack quickly particularly if you keep collecting them for awhile.
